Zoella “Zoey” Rose Martinez was murdered back in August but due to a lack of media coverage her story sled by with minimal national coverage. Although her story was shared by the folks over at Diversity Alloance Of The Puget Sound posted on October 6th announcing her murder.
On September 1st the body of Zoella “Zoey” Rose Martinez, 20 was found murdered in an alleyway outside a Seattle Fire Station 21 in the city’s Phinney Ridge neighbourhood. Zoey did something that is encouraged to many trans folx and that’s let someone know when you’re meeting or dating someone. Sadly far too often trans folx are murdered by our partners and it’s just an extra precaution to tell a friend.
She specifically enformed her friend of this guy Jacaree Rashad Hardy as he had stolen $1,000.00 from Zoey recently. Her friend arrived a little later than expected but sadly Zoey had been murdered by that same guy she was meeting. Police say she met in a parking lot at the Belmondo Reach Natural Area, used surveillance footage, as well as correspondence the victim had over Facebook, to identify Hardy.
After impounding Hardy’s car, a silver Lexus seen in the footage, they found five .40-caliber shell casings, a fired bullet, and blood on the front passenger seat.As of October 7th Hardy is charged with second-degree murder and first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. It is our hope that justice is served for Zoella “Zoey” Rose Martinez
