I had the pleasure of meeting Monica Roberts at my first BTAC in 2016. I consider myself lucky to have watched the master play Dominoes, hear her speak about her passion for the community, as well as the change we perceive the future. I was particularly honored that my brothers and I had the privilege of being at her funeral. There was so much I didn’t know, but I was there to learn about a Pioneer, who fought for the Transgender community, and equality. I strive to continue the fight that Monica led.
